On the National Historic Registry, this meaningful renovation honors the architectural integrity of the home while subtly incorporating updates to provide for modern living. Signature elements—arched doorways, detailed millwork and leaded-glass windows—provided all the inspiration for this project.
The home's formal Parlour gave us liberty to bring elevated drama. Featuring an exquisite floral wallpaper, delicate oval chandelier and traditional wainscotting, we designed the space to encourage connection with a pair of sofas and flexible seating. The light-filled sunroom serves as a cozy spot to enjoy a cup of tea and is grounded with a stunning marble mosaic tile floor and trimmed with charming ticking-striped roman shades.
A curated palette of historically accurate paint colors and wallcoverings appear throughout the home. The bathrooms feature custom-developed tile layouts that draw directly from archival patterns, replicating turn-of-the-century ceramic styles. These tile designs, together with restored architectural trim and fixtures, create a cohesive visual narrative consistent with the home’s original character.
